To meet the "conclusive certification approach" of the communiqué from the French Tax Authorities, INFOCERT has set up a system whereby companies embarking on the certification process are sent an attestation of effective progress, to help them justify their registration for certification.
What is the purpose of the certificate of effective advancement?
The purpose of this certificate is to enable you to justify your progress in the certification process in the event of an inspection.
This can be very useful, particularly when registering for NF525 certification. Indeed, if one of your customers is subject to a tax audit and the software you supply is not yet certified, your customer will be able to use this certificate to prove your good faith and your willingness to bring your software into compliance as quickly as possible.
How do I receive my certificate?
Once you've completed all the administrative formalities to join the process - including signing a certification audit quote and paying an initial administrative invoice - you'll receive your attestation.
Once these formalities have been completed, we will be able to send you your certificate of effective progress, based on the information collected about your software (trade name, version number, etc.) in the trademark application letter, which you can then pass on to your customers if required.
How long is the certificate valid?
To prevent certain companies from using this certificate as a means of justifying their compliance work, without actually working towards compliance, the certificate of effective progress has an initial validity period of 4 months.
Thus, the objective is to achieve compliance or to have made an appointment for a compliance audit within this 4-month period.
However, if, for various reasons, the company has not been able to achieve its compliance objective within the given timeframe, we will need to work together to determine how to extend the validity of the attestation of effective progress towards certification.
This extension will be discussed, depending on the situation, at the agreed time, and may result in the need to carry out a check on the progress made towards compliance.
