Next session

The next “AI Officer” training session will be held in person in Paris from October 12 to 14, 2026, featuring presentations by several experts from the French AI Standardization Commission, INFOCERT (a leader in software certification), Be Ethical (a specialist in AI ethics), law firms, and technical experts.

Background

Artificial intelligence is transforming organizations at an unprecedented rate. But behind the productivity gains and promising applications lie real risks: algorithmic biases, opaque decisions, violations of fundamental rights, legal liabilities, and potentially substantial fines (a percentage of the organization’s revenue) resulting from the combined effect of the European AI Act and sector-specific regulations.

However, any organization that uses AI (via a SaaS tool, HR software, a chatbot, or an enhanced CRM) is considered a “deployer” under the AI Act/RIA and, as such, is subject to legal obligations already in effect: training its staff on AI, identify a competent and authorized person within the organization to exercise meaningful human oversight of its systems, and to oversee risk management and documentation on an ongoing basis.

One question comes to mind: Who in your organization is responsible for ensuring that your AI deployments are acceptable, controlled, and compliant ? In the absence of clear guidelines, amidst the various impacts and technologies, who will arbitrate and guide the company on its AI journey?

It was precisely to address this need that the European standard EN 18274 was adopted, defining the skills and tools required by professionals responsible for managing AI deployments in an ethical manner. Our AI Officer training program is based on this standard, with instructors who are experts in the field. The AI Officer, operating on the basis of methodologies developed through European standardization, is a role that—for practical reasons—is essential for organizations, both legally and from an economic standpoint.

Why act now?

A few years ago, organizations that anticipated the GDPR were able to navigate the issue. The same dynamic applies to AI:

  • The European AI Act took effect in August 2024, with requirements phased in gradually through 2027/28.
  • The penalties are already set forth in the law (up to 35 M€ or 7% of global revenue). The relevant national authorities have been designated.
  • The EN 18274 standard will define the competency framework expected of AI governance professionals; organizations that begin preparing for it today will be in a favorable position.

We believe that training an AI Officer can turn a regulatory requirement into a competitive advantage. We are convinced that this role will be central to organizations.

Who is eligible for this training?

DPOs, Compliance Officers, and Legal Departments:
to align the AI Act, governance, and internal policies

Risk Managers and Internal Auditors:
to Identify, Assess, and Address Risks Specific to AI Systems

CIOs, digital project managers, and product owners: How to Incorporate Ethics from the Very Start of AI Projects and Manage Uncertainty

Executives and operational managers:
to make informed decisions about adopting and deploying AI tools

AI ethics officers, responsible AI directors, and ethics liaisons:
to structure and steer the organization’s ethics strategy, from guiding principles through to their operational implementation

HR and training managers:
to lead the organization’s skill development efforts on these issues

Training Objectives

At the end of this three-day training session, participants will be able to:

  1. Map out the implementer’s obligations under the European AI Regulation (EIA) and identify priority actions for their organization.
  2. Establish an ethical governance framework for AI by defining the scope, processes, and key stakeholders within the organization.
  3. Conduct a structured ethical analysis of a specific dilemma related to the deployment of an AI system, drawing on the theoretical frameworks and practical tools outlined in EN 18274.
  4. Assess the ethical and societal risks of an AI project using ethics-based audit (EBA) and ethical foresight analysis (EFA) methodologies.
  5. Manage AI compliance as a deployer by integrating the requirements of the RIA, the GDPR, and harmonized standards (EN 18229, EN 18274) into an operational action plan—or assist deployers as an external AI Officer.
  6. Master the professional role of the AI Officer by embodying the required attitudes (non-endorsement, philosophical neutrality, moral courage) and avoiding pitfalls (ethics washing, ethics shirking, fallacies).
How This Training Benefits Your Organization

Proactive Adaptation to Legal and Financial Risks
A poorly managed AI deployment can expose the organization to liability and result in significant fines. Training an AI Officer means having an in-house expert capable of preventing these situations before they arise.

Structured and Documented AI Governance
The
AI Officer provides a methodological framework that enables decision-making in the face of uncertainty: mapping AI uses, assessing risks, and documenting decisions. These are all elements expected by regulators and clients to avoid penalties.

A strong message to your stakeholders
Customers, partners, investors: having an AI Officer trained according to a European standard currently under development is a credible and visible differentiator. The issue is well-defined and taken seriously.

A Calm Approach to Anticipating Regulatory Changes
Rather than simply reacting to regulatory changes, your organization proactively incorporates them early on, with an in-house representative trained to oversee this monitoring and adaptation process. The introduction of AI within your organization is not a neutral matter; it must be managed effectively, and this management must be demonstrated.
